This session will explore patterns in English orthography and the six types of written syllable patterns while developing context and strategies for instructing students in “useful principles for chunking longer words into syllables” (Common Core Standards Appendix A 21-22 Reading Foundational Skills).

Participants will leave with the ability to provide explicit, multisensory instruction to students of all ages who are reading and spelling polysyllabic words. This interactive workshop is designed for teachers, interventionists and parents and includes a user-friendly reference guide.
