Professional Development services are provided through the Hasbro Center for Teaching & Learning at the Highlander Institute. Through this work, we seek to address specific school or district goals as part of an overarching school improvement plan or action plan. Our facilitators conduct sessions ranging from the very specific (such as vocabulary routines for Tier 2 instruction for educators in grades 3 – 5) to general overviews (such as Response to Intervention workshops for K – 12 paraprofessionals). Highlander facilitators can develop or adapt content from any of the topics found below to address priority needs or provide specific support for reform initiatives. Professional development models include after school / summer workshops, weekly seminars, co-teaching, demonstrations, and the facilitation of grade level meeting time.
