Last spring the Rhode Island Department of Education announced the winner of it’s half-million dollar, blended learning grant called the “Innovation Powered by Technology Model School Grant”. After a competitive process a Providence elementary school, Pleasant View Elementary, received the grant.

Pleasant View will be piloting its blended learning initiative this year thanks in large part to support from the Highlander Institute. The Highlander Institute has helped with needs assessment, planning, purchasing and professional development training at Pleasant View, and will continue to be a lead partner at the RI Model School through 2014.
